Spring Mini Purses Invites

 Hello Everyone! Happy Weekend and Happy Craft Month. Yes, March is National Craft Month. Let's kick-off this celebration with this colorful Spring Purses collection. Spring has sprung now in Jinky's Crafts. It's time for new bright and beautiful purses...so here, I am sharing with you my very springy + colorful purses!

Aren't they AH-MAZING and AH-DORABLE?! I love them. 

I decorated my Spring Purse Invites with 3D die cut Felt Flowers and decorative tape. I added cut-out leaves and added some bling - or rhinestones onto my swirls. Please see the last photo below to see how I did it.

I love to combine fabric and ribbons in my papercrafts so I added extra ribbon leaves from MayArts Ribbons. 

These Spring Purses are intended to be used as invitations for Mis Quinceanera + Sweet Sixteen + Bat Mitzvah or simply use it as Purse Gift Favors or Recordatorio in Spanish. Please check our Gallery for more invitation and gift favors ideas.

Song Birds Paper Wreath

Hello everyone! When I received my Creative Imaginations designer papers, I knew exactly what I was going to do for my MayArts post. I decided to make a Paper Wreath using MayArts Ribbons and the Song Birds Creative Imagination designer paper.

The ribbons I used to wrap my Styrofoam is my stash from my Spring Topiary project. I did not have enough of one color to wrap the whole area of the Styrofoam wreath so I decided to mix all of the different colors I have. I think it's very colorful and pretty.

I cut the outline of my bird image from the Song Birds collections from Creative Imagination. I created my 3D Sunflower using my Cricut machine. I applied some wet glue in the middle and poured ground coffee to make the improvised center of my sunflower. My wreath does not smell like sunflowers.  It smells like coffee! lol!

Can you believe that I whipped this up in just 15 minutes?! Yes ladies, This project is super easy, super cheap, and so much fun to do. Try this yourself and I know it will surely brighten up your front door and it is a cheery image to come home to.

5 Favorite Fabric & Ribbon Manipulation Project

Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a great day! I have been seeing a lot of beautiful and vibrant fabric flowers and ribbon manipulation projects in Pinterest recently. I decided to share with you my 5 Favorite projects I made using fabrics and ribbons.

1. Kanzashi Heart Wreath - I created this project for MayArts DT Challenge. I consider this as one of my top favorites because this project gave me the chance to be one of the talented MayArts Ribbons Designers. 

2. Ribbon Art Canvas - This is a project I created to showcase MayArts Ribbons & Stampendous Big Floral Peony Stamps. Great project for home decor. 

3. Kanzashi Fabric Flower -  I made this colorful fabric flower jewelry for my sister-in-law. There should be free tutorials on how to make the Yo-yo and Kanzashi Flower if you click the link.

4. Gathered Ribbon Flower  - This gathered flower is so easy to make. Just make a straight stitch on one side of the ribbon and then gather the stitch and form into a flower. 

5.  Spider Web Ribbon Flower technique - I enjoyed making this Framed Ribbon Flowers project. I learned few ribbon manipulation techniques in making this beautiful ribbon flowers. There should be a free tutorial for the Spider Web Ribbon Flower technique on my linked post.

Happy Thursday Everyone! Today is my turn to post for Crafter's Companion as one of their Design Team members. I made this Tri-Fold Shutter card and used the iconic kissing couple of S.W.A.L.K. stamp sets as my focal point. The S.W.A.L.K. rubber stamp set is called " A Little Kiss" and it is launched today along with the other 5 sets. You can check more details about my shutter card here. 

Below is the tutorial on how to make this unique Shutter Card.

Tri-Fold Shutter Card Instructions

1. Start with a 6” by 12” piece of cardstock.
Note: See scoring instructions using Ultimate Crafter's Companion Tool in Blue Text.

2. Score paper at 2”, 4” , 8” and 10". 
( Line 4 on Box Lid. Fold once and score at line 4 again. Repeat on the other side).

3.  Turn cardsctock ¼ turn. Along the side, measure in 1½" for both sides. 

       ( Line 3 on Box Lid )

4.  Make a slit with a craft knife between score marks 2" and 10". Repeat on the other long side. 

5.  Fold card as pictured. This is the base for your card to decorate.

Watering Can Flower Arrangement

Today, April 1st is the kick-off of Crafter's Companion Challenge Blog.  Here's my design idea for this month  Flower Challenge. A Watering Can Flower Arrangement. The stamps I used is  the beautiful "Thank You" S.W.A.L.K stamp set. I created a 3D effect by cutting out the stamp image and raising some of the flowers using foam dots. I also used Embossing Liquid on the flowers and hair clips to give dimension on the image. The "Thank You" sentiment I used is part of the S.W.A.L.K. stamp set. I love everything on this picture. The pearlescent cardstock, the Spring colors, the flowers and  the stamps. They all blend perfectly. I love it!

Pin Wheel Rosette Tutorial

Hi Folks! I am back with a tutorial on how to make this Pin Wheel Paper Rosette. Some of you have been sending me emails asking if I can make more tutorials using the Ultimate Crafter's Companion Tool. So here, I make a tutorial which is a cool project for you in time for the Spring season and for Mother's Day gifts. 

This is super easy project. I used my Ultimate Crafter Companion Tool in making my Pin Wheel Rosettes. You can do so many variations with this. You can put 2 different colors of paper together or attached a ribbon at the edge like what I did here. I sewed a 3/8 inch of silk ribbon on one edge of my paper before I score it. Check the tutorial below so you can follow what I am saying. LOL!

Framed Ribbon Spring Flowers

Finally, my project entry for the MayArts challenge is done~! I am so happy with the final outcome of this project. I am proud to present to you my Framed Ribbon Spring Flowers! Don't you just love how bright and beautiful everything looks in Springtime? I LOVE it! 

 Ribbon manipulation is new to me, but it is a new passion I have developed over the past few weeks. I love how paper and fabric complement each other. 

All ribbons used on this Challenge project were compliments of MayArts. This is my entry for their DT Call Craft Challenge, which had a theme requirement of Spring Flowers. I used the Flat Rose and Spider Web techniques for my roses. I just learned how to do these while working on this project. You can find my Spider Web Fabric Flower Tutorial here.

For those of you who know me, you probably know by now that I love 3D projects.  That is why I tried to make this in 3D. I cut some butterflies to adorn my Spring Flowers and weaved a basket which I intentionally raised to have that 3D effect.  I leave the top of the basket open so you can add some batting to poof it up or some moss (Sorry,  I don't have any handy). 

This project makes a great home decor this Spring season or a great gift for Mother's Day.  That's why I included a Happy Mother's Day sentiment cut out on the frame. 

This project is very easy. If I can do it being a newbie on ribbon folding, I bet you can to. C'mon give it a try~!

Fabric Flowers Collection - In Progress...

Here's a sneak peek of the  Fabric + Paper + Ribbon Flowers E-book I am currently working on. I am trying to release the E-book by the end of this month. Everywhere I looked today, I saw fabric flowers! I see them on ladies accessories like brooches, necklaces, fascinators or corsages.  Also, fabric flowers are popular for special occasions and events. Beautiful fabric flowers are usually used on wedding decorations, wedding flowers, bridesmaids bouquets, gifts and even on boutonnieres!

 I have seen fabric flowers on Wedding Gowns and on just about every other fashion these days. When I look at them I try to understand or dissect them  to figure out how they are  being made.  And then I try to replicate. Often, I buy fabric flower accessories not because I wanna use them. I usually tear them into pieces, study them and try to make it into my own version. At least it is not an electronics gadget I am breaking into pieces. I am so done from that, from my college days.  lol ! 

I think these Fabric Flowers are gorgeous! They might look easy to some or intimidating to others. But we can all agree that flowers brings cheers to everyone. Whether it is real flowers, or paper flowers, or fabric flowers or ribbon flowers! To me, they all look beautiful!

Ruffled Crepe Paper Flower Tutorial

"Spring has Sprung" finally in the Blogosphere even though some parts of the world are still freezing. I have seen many Spring themes on blog postings for the past 2 days so I decided to blog about flowers too. I don't have a garden so I thought of making flowers with -- what else...PAPER !

These flowers hanging into my wall are made of Crepe Papers. It is pretty easy to make and a tutorial on how to make Ruffled Crepe Paper Flowers is provided below. I just made a bunch and tied them using fish line to hang them onto my wall. Voila! A cheap and easy project this Spring season.
