Fall Theme Explosion Box Invitation

Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! Many of you have been asking me to make tutorials for some of my favorite projects I listed on my MayArts Bio. So as a starter I will be sharing a tutorial today on how to make a Spider Web Ribbon Flower. But before that, let me share first this Fall Theme Explosion Invitation Box that I decorated with the Craft Lounge Nuts About You Fall Stamp set.

The Craft Lounge Nuts About You stamps was perfect for this Fall Theme Invitation. I stamped a few of the borders and colored them with markers.  Then, I used those to trim my 3-tier cake. I stamped and cut a few of the fall leaves to use as an accent to my cascading flowers. I love the way it turned out.

I used a glitter pen on the leaves and sprinkled some Irish Green Sparkly Fluff. I love how it instantly added sparkle and touch-ability to my fall leaves. And there is no heat required! Just sprinkle it onto any sticky surface, tap off the excess and let it dry! Its that simple!

I wrapped a Sheer ribbon around the bottom part of my 3-Tier cake. And then I stamped more leaves on the panels of my box.

Ribbons Used:

1.5" Faux Linen - 368-15-17
5/8" Sheer/Ombre - AE28
3" Satin Ribbon - KK16

Ok, as I promised, the folding technique I used before on my Framed Spring Ribbon Flowers were Flat Rose and Spider Web. Today, I will share with you the Spider Web Tutorial. This is the technique I used in making my Ribbon Flower that I used to adorn my Explosion Box Lid cover.

18th Birthday Philippines Tradition

In the Philippines where I grew up, 18th Birthdays are a cultural tradition for girls to celebrate their debut. It is a coming-of-age that is somewhat similar to the Quinceañera celebration of the Latin American girls. The only difference between Quinceañera and Philippine Debut is the age, like in the Phillippines, we celebrate it when woman turns 18 years old, while Quinceañera takes place on the 15th birthday of a Latin girl.

Philippine Debutantes throw a large party with a completely hand-picked debut court of 18 pairs of people. 9 males and 9 females. The celebrant wears an extravagant ball gown while the celebrant's court usually wears a formal and uniform outfit chosen by the Debutante (celebrant). This is like a wedding party without the groom.
Some of the traditional performances during the party are :
  • Grand Cotilion
  • 18 Roses Dance
  • Father & Daughter Dance
  • 18 candles

Pyrimage Easel Card w/ Drawers

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Thursday!! Today, I would like to share with you this adorable Pyrimage Easel Card w/ Drawers I made for my friend. I printed one of the Pyrimage kits from the Fairyopolis Papercrafting Collections CD-ROMs. I really like this set.  It includes 20 project discs separated into each of the four seasons + two additional  CDs, also separated by season. And not only that, you can also use the CD to create backgrounds, custom cards, envelopes, toppers, pyrimages, decoupage, borders, note paper, backing papers and so much more! Is that cool or what?!?

Believe it or not , I have not done any Pyrimage before but by using the Fairyopolis CD-ROMs I was able to finish my first Pyrimage project easily. When you print the set, there are directions and an idea image included. I just love the 3-dimensional look of this papercrafting technique.

Also, making this Easel Card w/ Drawers is very easy & fast simply because I have the right tool - the Crafters Companion Boxer Board . I made the drawers longer to match the size of my 6"x5" easel card. The copic markers can fit perfectly in these drawers.

Designer Dresser With Mirror

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I would like to share a cool and functional project using one of the innovative tools from Crafter's Companion - The Boxer Board. That's correct my friends, this Dresser Drawer with Mirror was NOT DONE by any Electronic Tool or Die cutter but the Purple Plastic board from Crafter's Companion.

This Dresser Drawer with Mirror was my take on the Drawer Box that Sara Davis demonstrated in the Ultimate Advanced Construction Techniques DVD. Sara Davis is the founder of Crafter's Companion and creator of Ultimate Pro- The Award Winning Tool.

My Inspiration
I created these match boxes using the The Boxer Board, decorated with designer paper and add some Hitch Fasteners. This project is not just easy but it is also functional. I can use it to store some of my embellishments supplies.

Handmade Kindle Case with Ribbons

Hello everyone! I have a new addiction these days...Ribbon Manipulation. I think ribbons are the best embellishments on any Paper Crafts.

Today, I would love to share with you this Handmade Kindle Case that was adorned by some ribbons. It was made out of fabric. The ribbon technique I used in decorating my Handmade Kindle Case was gathering technique. It is pretty easy, all you have to do is sew a straight stitch by hand or by sewing machine and gather the stitch and form it into a flower.

Since I am one of the Design Team Member of May Arts Ribbons. All the ribbons I used in this project are May Arts Ribbon collections of RRR.

Ribbon Used in this project:

Gathered Flower              -Fucshia Silk
Belly Band                      - Fucshia Silk, Moss Silk
Leaves                            - Leaves, Lime Green
Flower Buds                   - Sheer Ombre Lavender/ Pink
                                      - Sheer Ombre Peach/ Yellow
Ruffle Belly Band           - Sheer Ruffle Edge Fucshia

I love how the ribbons pop-out with the black background. This luxurious color combination is perfect for a stylist Kindle Case, don't you think?

I want to thank RRR for inviting me to play with their awesome ribbons this month! I have some ribbons left so please stay tuned as I am looking forward of making more of ribbon project in coming days.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I hope you like my projects and that I inspired you today!  Stay tuned for more inspiration projects to come using your scoring board.
