Dressbox Gift Favor

Hello Folks! I hope everyone  had a great Easter Weekend. So, after Easter, what's next? I think everyone is looking forward on the Royal Wedding on this coming Friday. It is the most awaited, most talked Wedding Event of Kate and Prince William. I have seen different kinds of beautiful  royal souvenirs all over the net and TV . So today, my project was inspired by the Royal Event of the Year - A Dressbox Gift Favor! 

I made these cute Favor Boxes in different colors to capture the Spring colors and Prom season. This dressbox template is from the Tie The Knot Cricut Cartridge. I dry embossed them using my Cuttlebug and decorated them with ribbons and stickles. It is very easy and fast project if you have the tools. 

These Favor Boxes are perfect for weddings, bridal showers, Quinceñera, and sweet 16 parties. These unique dress shaped gift favors will make your guests delight with your creative talent. You can fill it with tasty treats or special treasures as souvenir.

Valentine Chocolate Tower Gift Box

It took me 2 days (not straight) to think of a way to re-use this template for something other than chocolate packaging. I spent more time decorating this Tower Box, but I was happy when I finally stopped and said... That's it, I am DONE! Folks, I present to you the Day 9 of the  14 Days of Handmade Valentine Crafts.

I like how it all came together. The pathway/red carpet + fences + flowers + stairs leads to the gazebo which  serves as the focal point of this cute gift box. All of these are Cricut cutouts from the Freshly Picked Cricut Cartridge.  There's a lot of variation you can use in this gift box template. You can put some jewelry or candles inside. The possibilities are endless and it is very versatile, you can use on any theme party or occasion you may have.

The above photo are shots of  the different angle/sides of the box. The blossom, flower and the heart are from  Cricut Tie the Knot cartridge.  

The box topper is a handmade flower using crepe paper. I love the pink + green + brown color combination.

Paper Flower Napkin Rings For Valentine

There are times when I get overwhelmed with things.  And yesterday was one of those days.  Guess what I do when things get overwhelming? I watch TV and not do anything ...I do NOTHING! Lol! 

But, I have earlier commitment to my followers that I will be posting 14 Days of Handmade Valentine Crafts. Today is our Day 8 of the 14 Days of Valentine, I decided to just keep it simple but yet useful and elegant. I made a napkin ring out of Paper Flower. The below photo is the materials for this Valentine Napkin Ring project. 

I wrapped my napkin ring with satin ribbon and made the flowers and leaves from Cricut cutouts using  Accent Essentials and Plantin Schoolbook Cricut Cartridge. 

For my Red Table Napkin, I used the black flower and gold leaves. 

I made a Red Paper Flower Rosette for my White Table Napkin. A tutorial of how to make this flower was linked on my previous postings of the Heart Framed Paper Flower Rosettes. 

I really like this  Red Paper Flower Rosette better. I think it is very romantic and elegant.

Now, you do not need to buy a napkin ring anymore. Just make a bunch depending on what theme or occasion you may  think you need in the future. Enjoy!

Felt Handmade Cell Phone Pouch/Case

Today, for our Day 6 of the 14 Days of Handmade Valentine Crafts. I decided to sew a phone case/pouch using felt. I have never done a similar felt sewing projects before so please bear with my sewing skills. I know, I need more practice, but hey, the concept is pretty easy. With just a few pieces of a felt + needle + thread, you can make a handmade pouch/case for your phone. The good news is, it is very inexpensive craft and you can customized the design you want. 

I used the top note pattern in making this case, it is perfect for anyone with basic stitching skills like me. You can measure your phone to make sure it will fit. In this case, I used my Cricut in making the template,  I cut it at 4½"using the Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge . Just blanket stitch the sides of 2 top note felt. This will be the body of your case. Make sure not to sew the opening side together. 

Again, with the help of my Cricut Machine, I cut my embellishment design from the Holiday Cakes Cricut Cartridge. 

Depending how fast you sew, this project can be done in less than an hour as long as you do not go crazy with the design. 

Now, you can make more designs and you can change your phone case as much as Lindsay Lohan change her hair color..lol !

Framed Heart Paper Flower Rosettes

Happy Heart Month Everyone!

I have been thinking of making a wreath out of paper rosettes, but I could not find a heart shaped Styrofoam form in my area. So, for Day 4 of the 14 Days of Handmade Valentine Crafts, I then decided to alter our wedding picture frame. I am glad I did it because I really  love the way it all came together, plus I saved money in buying Valentines gifts. 

So, to give you the low down on how I made this Framed Heart Paper Flower Rosettes, I made a heart shaped cutout and used the negative part. I centered the picture and attached my paper flower rosettes all around it to form a heart shape. Wendy from DoziDesign had a great tutorial on how to make this paper flower.  

The above photo shows the monogram that I made using my Cricut Personal Cutter. The Cricut Cartridge I used is the Tie the Knot Cartridge.  

I really love this "Love Birds" cut out. Isn't it adorable? I tried to mimic the doves that we were holding in the picture. Again, they were cut with the Cricut Machine using the Tie the Knot Cartridge. 

So before heading into the mall or going online for your Valentine's gift shopping, look inside your house. Maybe there is something that you can alter and make it more personal. It saves you time + saves you money + it will be more appreciated because it is handmade. You know the saying, if it is Handmade  then it is Heart made!

3D Cards - I am back!

It's been awhile since my last post.  My husband and I are visiting family and friends in Canada. We have been living in Latin America for a year and summer is the best time to have a vacation in North America. We were not around during the Winter Olympics, so there are lot's of changes in Vancouver since we left.

At the moment, we are in BC Interior. It is beautiful here, especially during the summer. Apples are starting to ripen. We just missed the Cherry season. I will be posting some pictures soon.

Before we came up to Canada,  I finished some 3D Cards.  These were meant to be entries in the 3D Tuesday Challenge in one of the groups I recently joined. I was not able to submit these cards because we were so busy packing during our last days before our trip.

For this 3D card, I used the Decoupage Paper Napkins technique for the bird as my focal point. I attached printed/designer napkin tissue on a chipboard. I used  Mod Podge as glue and Matte Finish. I framed my decoupage art and I embellished my card with ribbons and some charms. For the sentiment , I used the K and Company sentiment stickers.

For this card, I used Cricut Expression for the leaves.  For the border, I used the Martha Stewart punch .

I embellished this 3D card with Prima Flowers. I used a rubber stamps for the sentiments. Stay tuned for more projects, tutorials and news to come.
