Halloween Decor - DIY Ribbon Flower Wreath

Hello and happy Friday everyone! Aren't you glad it 's TGIF?!. I am prepping for our trip tonight.  We are going to one of the Caribbean Island here in Panama. It is our 6th year Wedding Anniversary. But, before I leave, I want to share with you a festive project that can inspire you for the weekend. A Halloween Wreath.

This is a very fast and easy project. I really enjoyed making this Halloween Decor Craft. It is a little bit dressy, fun and it makes a cute halloween decor.

Here's the quick how to:

  • wrap 12″ foam wreath in Halloween wide ribbon by MayArts
  • make 3 different kinds of flowers using fabric, ribbon and paper
  • wrap candles with Halloween ribbon and another contrasting  color ribbon

For my fabric  flowers: I used the gathering technique and Frilly flower technique.

Lastly, I just wanna share the place we are heading to celebrate our wedding anniversary! I am so excited to play in the water under the sun with my wonderful husband of 6 years. Happy weekend everyone and please help me pray for good weather!

Thanks a lot for stopping by and hope I inspired you today!

Santa Pants Treat Box with Drawers - Day 10

Are You Ready to Become the Talk of All Your Friends with the Most Unique Set of Gifts They have Ever Seen?

Hi Folks! I am back from my Women's Retreat this past weekend. I really had fun on that retreat, great food, great location and awesome new girlfriends I met. I am in a great mood today and I have a great project to share, which is included in the 12 Days of Christmas E-Book ( 2nd Edition). I may say this is my favorite. I really had fun making this Santa Pants Treat Box with Drawers so I am sure you will do the same.

Day 9 - Santa Pants Treat Box with Drawers

I know some of you can not wait for the release, and I promise it is coming soon.    I always put a lot of thought into which projects to include and that is taking a lot of time.  But guess what, 2 more projects and you can finally have the complete tutorial for all the 12 projects.

This Santa Pants Treat  Box with Drawers is really great for packaging your holiday treats this season. You have the option to just do the box and not bother with the drawers, but I always want to make ordinary projects extra ordinary so if you notice I always have "2 in 1 or 3 in 1" projects.

Please stay tuned for the release. Be patient, my friends. 2 more to go!

Thanks a lot for stopping by. Please stay tuned for more Holiday projects to come.

Christmas Ribbon Headband - Day 8

Are You Ready to Become the Talk of All Your Friends with the Most Unique Set of Gifts They have Ever Seen?

Are you guys excited about the release of my 2nd Edition of 12 Days of Christmas Handmade Crafts yet? We are now on Day 8 so that means there are 4 more projects to go before the release date.

For Day 8, I would like to share with you this super EASY+ FAST+ CHEAP holiday project. It's a Christmas Ribbon Headband. You might not believe me when I say that I spent less than $1 on this headband. Oh yes my dear fellow Crafters. It's that cheap but it is selling around $8-$10 in Etsy or at the retail stores.

Here's the breakdown on the cost.
  • 1 yard ribbon ( wrapped around the headband) - $0.25 cents
  • 1 yard 2-Toned Ribbon Flower - $0.50 cents
  • feathers - $0.10 cents
  • sticky tape/double sided tape/ fabric glue (I already have these supplies but I only used a little so maybe $0.10 cents worth only)

This Christmas Pyramid Gift Box will be in the Revised "1st Edition of 12 Days of Handmade Christmas Gifts" E-book when it is re-released. I temporarily removed it from my Etsy Store because I needed to make some revisions.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. Please stay tuned for more Holiday projects to come.

Christmas Treat Bag & Drawer Box - Day 7

Are You Ready to Become the Talk of All Your Friends with the Most Unique Set of Gifts They have Ever Seen?

Hello everyone! Are you ready for Day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas Handmade projects? I love to experiment, and through my experimentation I have discovered some designs that I really like. Today, I would like to share this 2-in-1 project.  A Christmas Treat Bag and Drawer Box. This project is so cool.  Plus if you would like to do the Christmas Treat bag only and omit the drawer, it's possible, so it is very versatile.

Christmas  Treat Bag& Drawer Box - Front Side

I will re-shoot this tomorrow so I can take a photo of the Drawer Box when the drawers are open. This project would be great to package some Christmas Trinkets, Gift Cards, or even jewelries. I think it is also great to use as a promotional product. Just fill the Christmas Bag and Drawer box with small promo items.

The step-by-step tutorial for this Unique Holiday Gift Packaging will be available on the 12th Day of Christmas. They will be included in the 2nd Edition of the 12 Days of Handmade Christmas Crafts E-Book.

3 in 1 Christmas Treat Bag, Box & Card - Day 6

Welcome to Day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas Handmade Crafts

So, what is the Day 6 project? It might be appropriate to say projects because it is a 3 in 1! I prepared a multi-functional project for Day 6. It is a Christmas Treat Bag, a Treat Box and Christmas Card rolled into 1! Cool, Eh?!

If they can do 3 in 1 in some electronic gadget, I think we can do it also in Papercrafts. You can do a lot of things with the Day 6 Christmas Project Template. It is great for a holiday promotional product. You can insert your calling card, or attach a card, fill the box with sweet goodies, and use the bag for your promo product such as handmade soap, handmade candles, handmade crafts or stationery. The possibilities are endless.

I used a craft knife for cutting a window out of my treat box and for the other one I used a Spellbinder die. I then covered the hole with acetate, but you could use clear plastic.  Then I filled with goodies and decorated. I must say, this is one of my favorite holiday gift boxes. It is very versatile and you can use it for any season or themed party events.

I filled my Treat Bag with my handmade ribbon flowers. One uses the 2-Toned Color Ribbon Rose Flower and the other one is the Frilly Fabric Flower.

The step-by-step tutorial for this Unique Holiday Gift Packaging will be available on the 12th Day of Christmas. This will be included in the 2nd Edition of the 12 Days of Handmade Christmas Crafts E-Book. You can find the first edition here: 12 Days of Handmade Christmas Crafts E-Book

But wait! If you are like me and you can not wait sometimes, the separate tutorial for just this project is now available for purchase at my Etsy Shop. If you want to buy just this one tutorial, you have that option now.  But be aware that this will be included on the 12 Days of Christmas 2nd Edition and we can't refund you if you decide to buy the E-book later on (but, you will still get 11 other craft ideas, so it will be more than worth it).

Thanks a lot for stopping by. Please stay tuned for more Holiday projects to come.

Handmade Kindle Case with Ribbons

Hello everyone! I have a new addiction these days...Ribbon Manipulation. I think ribbons are the best embellishments on any Paper Crafts.

Today, I would love to share with you this Handmade Kindle Case that was adorned by some ribbons. It was made out of fabric. The ribbon technique I used in decorating my Handmade Kindle Case was gathering technique. It is pretty easy, all you have to do is sew a straight stitch by hand or by sewing machine and gather the stitch and form it into a flower.

Since I am one of the Design Team Member of May Arts Ribbons. All the ribbons I used in this project are May Arts Ribbon collections of RRR.

Ribbon Used in this project:

Gathered Flower              -Fucshia Silk
Belly Band                      - Fucshia Silk, Moss Silk
Leaves                            - Leaves, Lime Green
Flower Buds                   - Sheer Ombre Lavender/ Pink
                                      - Sheer Ombre Peach/ Yellow
Ruffle Belly Band           - Sheer Ruffle Edge Fucshia

I love how the ribbons pop-out with the black background. This luxurious color combination is perfect for a stylist Kindle Case, don't you think?

I want to thank RRR for inviting me to play with their awesome ribbons this month! I have some ribbons left so please stay tuned as I am looking forward of making more of ribbon project in coming days.

Thanks a lot for stopping by. I hope you like my projects and that I inspired you today!  Stay tuned for more inspiration projects to come using your scoring board.

Kanzashi Heart Wreath - MayArts Final DT Challenge Entry

This will be at the top of the post until May 31st.
Be sure to scroll down.

Hey Folks, the MayArts DT Challenge ain't over yet. If you remember, my Framed Ribbon Spring Flowers was selected in the initial round of Finalist for the Design Team Call for MayArts. This Kanzashi Heart Wreath is my entry to the last round Challenge. This time there was no theme.  I hope you like my entry and support me by voting for me. Stay tuned for MayArts official post for the FINAL ROUND entries.

I decided to make this Kanzashi Heart Wreath because I love the art of folding. The Kanzashi term- in the English-speaking world, refers to the folded-fabric-petal flower that traditionally adorned the Tsumami Kanzashi (folded hair ornament). These are created by Japanese artisans from tiny squares of silk, usually 1"- 4". It is folded into petals using origami techniques.

I really like how the twig (wrapped with velvet MayArts ribbon) gives my butterfly a nice place to rest.  I am actually amazed with all the different types of Kanzashi folding and Kanzashi flowers. In Japan, the seasons dictate which kind of hair ornament is worn. It is beautiful! Please scroll down for the  Basic Tutorial for Rounded Kanzashi Petal.

One of the traditional and main supplies used in Kanzashi flower construction is rice glue. I deviated from the traditional way by hand-stitching instead. This flower petal folding requires a lot of patience, but it is worth it.  I love how my Kanzashi flowers and  Kanzashi Falls came together. The summer colours are bright and cheery. This Kanzashi Heart Wreath will be a great home decor item for summer time.  And by using the tutorial provided below you can make hair accesories like a barrette, hair clip, necklace, brooch and many more..You can see some of my Kanzashi projects here.

All the ribbons used on this Challenge project were compliments of MayArts.
